Enjoy the Beauty of Hartridge's Wood
Trago in Liskeard is fortunate enough to be located alongside the River Fowey in the stunning Glyn Valley. Our store is set in the heart of picturesque woodland with Hartridge’s Wood being the perfect location to get back in touch with nature.
The riverside walk offers beautiful views and there is also a children’s outdoor play area, picnic seating and a barbeque area for families to enjoy.
See how many wild birds you can spot!
Just up from Hartridge’s Wood in the East Carpark you will find our Nature Reserve. This is a peaceful figure of eight walk around two lakes with statues, fountains and lovely shrubbery.
Back towards the store opposite our takeaway on the far side of our carpark you will find our Oriental Garden. This tranquil oasis is the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful river and trees, and yet more themed statues adorn the woods here.
Trago joins forces with Wildlife Trust
Our store is set in mature wooded areas providing a home for wildlife as well our ponds and lakes. The River Fowey, famous for its trout and salmon, also flows across our site and offers a fabulous riverside walk for customers, local families and holiday makers. Being very much at one with nature at our Liskeard store we are proud to have become a Wildlife Guardian of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
We are keen to support the work of Cornwall Wildlife Trust and make the most of our own beautiful natural location.
Only in Cornwall!
You’ll also discover dozens of statues in the grounds of Trago in Liskeard. Many of these poke tongue-in-cheek fun at political figures and officials over the decades. In 2024 we were proud to become the home of a life-size statue of Cornish comedian Jethro. The memorial statue shows him smiling in his familiar performing stance. It is fitting for Jethro to be back at home as he worked at Trago in Liskeard many years ago.
And, of course, no trip to Trago Liskeard would be complete without seeing (and hearing) our peacocks! As one reviewer of Trago on Trip Advisor puts it “only in Cornwall could you find somewhere as mental, but intriguing and fun as this...”
